I just got a great deal on Ebay for this 2001 DiscoI brushguard, but now I am afraid it wont fit my 2004.... woops... any knowledge of this? I guess if it doesnt work, I am going to fix some issues with it, powder coat it and resell it...

And ways of making this thing fit my truck?? thanks

 

You sure it was a Disco 1 and not a Disco II. They stop making the DI's in 99. Is it a Bull Bar like this.

The brush guard that fits the 03 and 04 are different because of European safety regulation so that people dont get hurt as bad when you ram them with your truck. There is a post on the forum where someone was able to get a pre 02 brush guard on an 03 I think but I cannot find it. The factory 03 and 04 brush guards are really hard to find, took me 8 months and the seller refused to ship.

What exactly wont fit on it? Is the wrap around not fitting or will it not lay flush against the bumper? I would pull the bumper and see if you can mount it to the crush cans with the brackets you got. The mount with the actual 04 brush guard will require some trimming anyway, so it may not be that much of a stretch to fit 01 brush guard on. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

 

The brushguard is off of a 2001 Disco II.. are the Frames the same and it should bolt up??

Yes same bolt pattern and same frame width. D1 will also fit with a quick trim in the mount tabs
