Default Oil in Air Intake

I was putting a lift on the D2 this weekend and had to pull the rubber air intake off to pull the shock out. I was surprised to find about 3 tablespoons of oil leak out from it. Should I be concerned????

oil on the butterfly at the throttle body, this is caused by the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve on the rocker covers sending engine oil vapour back to the intake - it's a part of emission control. If you were keen to get rid of it you could find a spray of some sort to spray in while the engine is running that would no doubt remove it (throttle body cleaner??). It may also be possible that your PCV is buggered.

Yes, no, maybe. I'd suggest checking your PCV(positive crankcase ventilation) system. Could be that your oil separator is plugged up. See this post for a discussion about the separator. https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...e-cover-52254/

Edit: Ooooh, stereo advice even

Your oil seporator should be replaced and a little build up is normal so clean your t/body, once a year, with the engine off, not running, with carb cleaner.
