I would hope so...I'd rather dirty unfiltered oil than no oil at all.

They did a thing on Mythbusters about oil filter magnets...dont waste your time or money.

I disagree, if you use one of the oil filter magnets that John sells at Expedition Exchange, you can see the proof of their benefit, just cut open your old filter before you remove the magnet, The proof is in the can.

Sure, it will concentrate most of the ferrous metal where the magnet is. But...it would have been trapped by the filter media anyway so the net benefit is zero. Am I missing anything?

I went to ket the K&N 3001 Oil Filter -- it was very LONG , but on the K&N listing it Called for a Different Oil Filter - not the 3001

Which should I use ?

Whats the Main Difference ? - if K&N calles for a different Number - whats the main Difference in the 3001 ?

You get alot of additional filter media and believe me every little bit helps.
