The Fram is a PH16 I believe.

As an aside, what type of oil is everyone running? Brand and viscosity rating? I am in need of an oil change too.

Also, you can get drain plugs with magenets on them. Just a thought.

I use castrol gtx 10w-40. I'll probably switch to 5w-30 for the winter just in case it does get wicked cold. I bet people are all over the place in what they use though. I don't bother with synthetic because I never change itover 3k miles, so it seems like a waste to me.

I'm a little confused though. My RAVE cd says to use 10W-40 for a low compression V8, and 5W-30 for a high compression V8. I thoughtall discos had high compression engines (premium gas), so should I use a 30 weight oil?

If you run a Fram on your truck, I will slap you. They are the worst things you can get. Might as well stuff a sock in you sump and change it every 100 miles.

Get a K&N, Mobile 1 or WIX. They aren't that much more, and are a lot cheaper than a new motor.

I run Royal Purple 10W40

If you are running a Fram filter and giving out the part number as a suggestion, after OKDiscoguy slaps you, I'll take you off the site.
Never ever use or recommend a Fram oil filter, they are pure junk.
No go buy a Mobil 1 or a K&N 3001 oil filter and apolgize to your truck.

I know because I just bought one for my engine flush.

I've never seen the WIX filters, but I run K&N's normally. Glade to see there is an application for the Disco.
