On the other side of the option, I have had an opportunity to be present when a 2 different filters were cut open, there was a fdair amount of metal building up on the inside of the filter cans when a filter magnet was used. Yes, they do work and work well, yes they are a little pricy.

Sure, they trap particles that are already being trapped on the "dirty" side of the filter. My question is, are they really trapping anything smaller than whatcan be trapped by the filter?It looks like they claim it does,but they don't give any quantities. Maybe only 1% of the particles are actually down to 2 microns.I'm suspicious, especiallyat those prices. Just something to think about.

Did you read the information from the link I posted. I can't see how you can question the fact that they do stop more then even the best filters that, if I remember right only filter down to 8 microns, any less and they plug up and cause flow and or by-pass problems.

No, I did not scroll down that far, I thought it was just a products page. That's some pretty good analysis, there's a big difference in the 2 and 5 micron range (below what a filter can do).It looks like that answered my question.

This is really the worst justification for not using something I have ever heard. Kinda pisses me off when people say this. If it was true, Land Rovers would have come out with 8MM wires and better plugs. There are ways of improving things to be better than the manufacturer put them out.
