Default Oil Filter...which one?

I don't use Frams on any vehicle out of principle, but I vaguely remember seeing someone recommending some sort of large, military green colored filter on here.

Am I crazy or does someone remember that? I can't seem to find what I was thinking about.

I don't know about a green filter I use either the Mobil 1-301 or the K&N 3001, both of which are the larger filter.

Mopar filter 090 works the same. you can buy them at walmart or just get an oil change at a dodge dealer for alot less then a LR dealer.

Pretty sure the MANN W940.25 is the large version filter for our trucks. It can be had for under $6 online + shipping if you know where to look.

I can't comment on that but it makes sense since a lot of companies multi-brand like that.

I actually have a bunch of OEM Audi filters for my old A4 that I have laying around (bought a 5 pack back then) which are the same size. I'm going to give them a go next oil change.

Wix 51515. Great filters. Steel media support, steel end caps, silicone anti-drainback valve, under $6. Purolator and most other bargain filters use plastic media support and paper ends. Not to say they don't perform well enough, but for essentially the same price why not get the better filter?
