Oil light on after parked for 6 months
Started my 2003 D2 (104k miles) for first time today after 6 months parked on driveway with slight incline. (engine pointed uphill).
Red oil light came on first time ever. I immediately turned the engine off.
Zero visible drips/leaks. Zero oil patch on driveway.
Oil level a little low prior to starting so added about a quart of oil, then confirmed oil level ok.
Engine started no problem but oil light came back on when idling. Engine sounded normal. I did not rev engine at higher rpms.
I double checked for leaks etc and checked oil level again. Now dipstick shows too much oil.
Oil is super clean.
I’m paranoid about destroying my engine because it’s been sitting idle so long.
But I think step one is increasing rpm to 2000 to see if this increases pressure etc.
Maybe change oil filter.
I want to get it on flat ground so i can change oil and check oil pressure etc.
Sanity check and/or Suggestions?
Thanks in advance

check your oil pressure sensor wire at switch, make sure its not grounded or touching any metal and its connected, could be a faulty sensor or bad oil pump, either way if you wanna be safe and not play the guessing game check oil pressure with a gouge
