I tried searching but could not find any specific symptoms of the dreaded '03, and possibly '4, oil pump failures. I just recently purchased an '03 with 102K. I know for a fact that the previous owner replaced the front cover along with the oil pump housing?? I have the receipt from that. I have a slight ticking noise also, not sure if it from a lifter or what, just starting to get a little paranoid with all the oil pump failure talk. Anything that I should be looking out for regarding this issue? Thanks in advance.

 

The oil light taking longer to shut off after start up.
The oil light flickering when engine hot and at idle.
The oil light coming on while driving.
When was the oil pump and front cover replaced? Miles wise I mean.
