My past Oil Change Intervals are really Unknown since the car belonged to my grandfather and the history was in his head I guess. I changed As soon as I got It about a year ago ( 10K Plus ) and never changed it again till Now.. I forgot since I ve had it in the shop with a T case Vibration for over 2 months and Just got it 2 weeks ago so it really slipped my mind since I practically never Use It.

Shop Just called and told me that my Oil Pressure is about 75% of what is supposed to Be.. and that he will Open the Oil deposit tomorrow morning for signs of sludge.

But I´m kinda looking for a new Oil Pump or at least one of these.

Hotest climate down here is never above 90 and only for a couple of weeks .. Mexico city is very High ( 1.6 Miles above sea Level That is 25 Atmosferes or 25% power Loss)

Humidity is very low also..

 

But how cold does it get down there and for how long?

 

Gotchya. Then a 5w50, 15w40, 15w50, 10w40 would be perfect, assuming it doesn't get too cold. If it doesn't get that hot 20w60 may be overkill. Won't hurt anything though, unless it gets cold.

It was 91 today down in south florida. At least, that is what my A/C temperature reading said.

It never gets very cold either ... never below 45 .. Last time it snowed in Mexico was 1975.. and it was quite an event. we thought it was the end of the world.

 

Living in those temps, personally I would use either 15w-50 or 20w-50.

I live in Michigan and I use 15w-50 in the summer and then 5w-30 for the winter.

Before you let your shop guess and spend your money, you might want to send me your tele number so I can walk you/your mechanic what to do and look for.
He is just guessing.

He is Guessing and now he told me He needs to do a whole angine rebuild at 5k Plus.

I know I should have other alternatives.

Oh mike .. shop did the oil pressure check and told me it has about 50 or 60 % of the normal Oil Pressure the car requires.
