Default okay boy and gals. lets play "guess the issue"

58,500 miles on 04 disco.

driving home tonight and i get a service engine soon light. pull into garage and i smell the faint smell of raw fuel. walk to the rear and take a wiff from the exhaust and sure enough that very slight smell of raw fuel in exhaust is dancing in my nose.

so before i dash off to the store and plug in a code reader lets play guess the cause.

couple hints,,,

magnacore wires and NGK iridium plugs replaced at 50k miles. induction cleaning done at 49k miles.

front O2 sensors are 1000 miles old. rears are stock. filters and fluids are about 5k miles old. so do we guess bad rear sensors? or maybe a MAF? or how about the long shot faulty front O2 sensor from AB?

im gonna go with bad front sensor.

Wouldn't be the first time. The next to last guess sounds as if it has merit.

That Duc and Prancing Horse took all his toy money. I just wish I would not have missed out on that Hawkeye on here a few days ago.

yeah im gonna have to to pick one up at the shop today. but before i do so i am still gonna read the code there.

gonna pop the plugs and see if there is anything to tell there. also the sensors if i need to. could be a gummy fuel injector.

we shall see

All the rear O2's do is tell the ECU if the cats are working correctly or not.
No save your money on those.
I'm going to guess a bad front O2.

bought myself a scan tool with live feature so i can monitor on the go. very cool. also its shocking how far off my speedo is.

anywho truck is tossing or was tossing a lean bank 2 code. cleared that and drove home and was tossing a O2 fault bank 2. so the O2 sensor is tripping. checked the plugs and they are beeeeeeeeeeeautiful. doubt highly its a injector issue. so is this simply a chance encounter with a bad sensor, or is my truck gonna keep ruining sensors?
