OME COILS AND SPRINGS INSTALL TIME
I brought my Discovery to a local mechanic to have them install my new springs and shocks. About how much labor time should I expect a mechanic to charge me for this job realisticly?
Thanks
Thanks
I did my own with a little help from my ham fisted buddy who can't plug in a lamp. I on the other hand am not such a good mechanic. [sm=rolleyes.gif]
It took us about 5 hours with a great deal of uncertainty. I paid to have my other set installed for $325. Frankly, given how much I hate to work on cars, I would have paid $400.

Disco Mike:
My son and I tried to replace the front shock bushings on his 1996 Disco I. We could not get the nuts off the shock shafts; how do you do it? We broke one 8mm wrench tring to hold the shaft while turning the 19mm nut. We then tied a vice grip on the shaft. It just rounded off the end. How do we get the nuts off?
Thanks.

Well PB blaster is always your friend and depending on the item you are working on you can always heat the nut with a torch to help it release. If all else fails just cut it off and replace with at least a grade8 or even better an 8.8 or grade 12 but then it gets really expensive for just a bushing bolt.
