Default OME shock question

If I get these OME shocks from bputah, can I add the 2" springs at a later point in time to get the lift and accomodate larger tires?
$440

OME
set of 4 shocks
Discovery II (99~04)

*I have searched and did not find any specifics on this question.

You should be fine. The OME shocks are stock length. Later you can add the springs and get the lift. Although, if I were you, I would just wait and save the extra $300 for the springs to do them at the same time. You'll get a much better ride.

Check out Lucky8llc.com for an OME shocks and springs lift kit for a little over $700.

Thanks for the advice, that may well be what I do.

Will this kit include everything I need to get 2" , other than the steering stabalizer?

Yup!

And as drowssap points out, TerraFirma can be a great choice as well. They also make +2 shocks. But you'll need to get extended SS brake lines if you go that route.

bballJames, I was searching through trying to find a link for the ss extended lines and found some saying you don't need them unless you d/c the sway bars, is that correct?

I just installed the TF +2 lift kit without removing the bars. I did not have to install the extended brake lines. However I do have the kit and will change out soon mainly for better braking. Most kits come with 4 hoses, but there are actually 6 hoses that need to be changed to go all stainless steel. I purchased the Goodridge from Rovers North and order the other two from Atlantic British.

Blackpaw, because of your mileage you really want to replace those warn out rubber brakes hoses, at this point they are restricting you brake pressure and could fail any time from heat and age.
As for the OME shocks, they will work well on your current coils and even better once you install the springs.

Thanks Mike. Where would you recommend getting the lines, I didn't see them on bputah.com?
