Thought the 03s didn't have the dif-lock lever.

Where did you see a diff lock lever? I see a range selection lever, but no diff lock function...

They look pretty similar & I'm not very savvy on anything but the 04s, but they look, so I'm sure you're right.

@Pik, Make sure you get a pre-purchase inspection by a qualified Rover expert.

Luckily, you have one of the best independent shops in the country practically in your back yard...or at least nearby in Elizabethtown, PA.

I strongly suggest you have these guys look it over. Land Rover, Range Rover, Rover Repair | Elizabethtown, PA Trevor and Keith are excellent!

The other thing you should consider is speak to him (Trevor from British 4x4 Specialsts) and Randy Williams (http://britishboneyard.com/ who is also in Lancaster). If the truck in your link isn't a good one, then they may know of a good one in the area or possibly even have one they'd sell.

If you live near Lancaster, PA and drive a Disco, then both of those guys are very good to know...

Thanks dcarr, Randy W is either going with me to check it out or I will drive it to his shop, where he will put it on the lift and give it the once over.

I have a feeling I might be spending quite a bit of time poking around Randy's yard.

If it all checks out I think that is a very reasonable price.

2003 Land Rover Discovery
Having just bought a II off Craigslist...I highly recommend paying the $50-100 to have LandRover or another trusted mechanic check it out. I was pretty thorough about it and got a list of about $5,000 in needed repairs on my final choice earlier this month (leaking head gaskets, shattered windshield, failing rear right hub, rear breaks, front and rear pinion seals, throttle heater(?) and recommended hose replacement). In addition, the three amigos have since appeared and I got the predictable mat-leak issue. Thanks to this forum, I've spent $ on what matters, left what doesn't and the LR dealership fixed the leak for free by yanking the plugs on the aircon unit (thanks again, forum-ers). Love, love, love my car. I should note that my other car is a vanagon so I'm no stranger to repairs...you won't be ether so at least get it checked ad be informed! Sounds like you've been here before, good luck. Beautiful car.
