2004 Disco SE

100k miles

One owner- PERFECT- MINT CONDITION. ALL Records.
The owner added aftermarket DVD-Navigation system. Looks nice.

The owener is willing to take it to the dealership to have inspected.

I know people having been saying that they have paid around 8k for 04 DISCOs with close 100k. But seeing how this Disco is in mint condition, is it worth paying $10k??

What do the service records show being done? At 100k if it hasn't had the head gasket replaced, then you should assume that it will need a head gasket sometime in the near future. Also, has the front drive shaft been replaced? If it doesn't have at least 4 grease fittings (1 in each u-joint, and 1 in the slip joint on the shaft itself) then it needs to be rebuilt ASAP.

Make sure you have details of all of the services performed. (i.e.- When the cooling hoses were replaced, serpentine belt replaced, etc...) Compare those services to Disco Mike's 60/90k checklist and plan on doing anything that is missing from the list yourself.

Aj6543, I'm going to have to refer you back to jafir's questions (Where are you at again? What has been done in these records?) because the answer you are looking for really hinges on these two questions.

IF it passes dealer inspection, is "mint" inside and out, has had ALL service done at the recommended mileage/time at the dealer (and of course documented in the owner's maintenance handbook), all major repairs done for a LR with 100K (like HGs, re-built front drive shaft with greaseable parts, etc.; see dcarr1971's comments) and you lived in certain areas of the country (usually more northwest or northeast), than sure, 10K will be about right.

But, IMO, if anything falls short of expectations from the paragraph above, 10K is too much. A lot of market price action for LRs depends on where you live, negoiation skills and what has been done (or lack of) maintenance and repair wise.

Look at a lot of Discos before you decide, you will truly enjoy the vehicle, tread lightly.
