Default one tail light much brighter than the other

As the title suggests the passenger side tailight runs like a brake light. Wife just pointed this out. Is this a wiring issue or a bulb issue or something else? I haven't looked into it yet but any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have your foglights on? If so try turning off the foglights and looking at the taillights again. (many European cars have a rear safety light which is the brake light on one side, that comes on when the foglights are turned on so people following can see you in the fog).

I don't use the fog lights but ill check. The rear fogs are in the bumper. I'm talking about the rear tailights.

The rear fog lights shut off when you turn the lights off and you must turn them back on to get them to work again, so its not that.
Probably the wrong watt bulb in there.
Swap left and right side bulbs and see if the bright light follows.

Did you replace one bulb?
Always replace bulbs in pairs to keep this from happening.

Man I don't even remember when I changed a bulb last but I only replace them as they blow out. Will swap and see if that works.
