Something is wrong 17mpg in town is unheard of,, its running lean,,but
if its not running hot I would leave it for now.
Be for warned the mileage maynot last as it may go back to normal.

If you fill up at the same gas pump it maybe giving to much fuel.

What ever it is you need to delete this post before the oil co's see it.

Always change all 4 02 sensors at the same time if you want the best results.
Use B&G's 44K in the gas tank, SeaFoam as an induction cleaner and clean the t/body for the best results.
Might also consider running and extra 5 pound of air pressure in your tires.

Tire size makes no difference on tire pressure. 30 PSI is 30 PSI no matter the size of the tire.
Read the drivers door jam, it will tell you what LR recommends. I run 35 front and 40 rear.

When I fill up it is always at the same station and same pump, so pretty consistent. Dont think they are giving extra away.

As for temp, never goes hot, always in the same position on the dummy gauge.

Yea the oil companies still like our Land Rovers even at 17mpg.

My tire pressures are a bit on the higher side(intentionally):

Front: 36psi
Rear: 44psi

The only thing I have not replaced, come to think of it is my O2 sensors. The entire Y section (cats) were replaced under warranty 6 months ago.

Guess I could try the O2's, just not sure the gain would be worth the cost of replacement?

Regards,

Nick

every 1/4 pickup (ford 150) gets about that millage of a disco (the same class of motor). my dads 2003 f150 supercrew gets 16 highway, 12 city, and its 500 pounds lighter then the disco.

Just for fun-if your y-pipes were replaced you might have new o2's already. Look at your invoice from when the work was done and see.
Check your air filter.
Full synthetics in the crankcase and diffs and t-case really help too.

No such luck on the O2 sensors. Dealer definatly put the old ones back in, oh well.

As for fluids, all Royal Purple, thought Id try something different. I cant tell the difference between RP or Mobile one though. Guess you cant go wrong with either one.

Air filter pretty new, maybe 3000 miles on it.

Thanks
