There is a proliferation of cheaper non-genuine coil pack sold on EBay apart from the more expensive factory Bosch one.

I purchased one of the cheaper ones sold by Lucky8 for a Turner engine install project a couple of years ago. I believe it was an AllMakes version. I started getting misfires soon after installation. I went back to the used ones that I originally had. The misfire went away.

Perhaps my initial experience with the AllMakes or Britpart coil pack is an anomaly. Had anyone used them recently and can share experiences please?

I've used cheap units off of Rock Auto = zero issues.

 

Any coil pack seems to work for me. I wouldn't spend a fortune on a set. I installed the relocation kit a few years ago and it is a great upgrade. When you buy a coil pack set be sure that you get the bracket that holds the coil packs if you plan on installing the relocation kit.

 

Rock auto has the Bosch brand cheap. Buy a set every 10 years done
