Opinions on the hood lining
While we're on this subject, I was thinking of fabbing up a fiberglass cowl induction style hood for my truck. Just taking the raised part and raising it up about 2". It definatly let more air through the engine bay. Anyone have any thoughts or anything good or bad would be appreciative
lol gotta love the shaker hood. I just want something different but not stand out. Just enough to make you look at it a couple times before you even know anything is different. I want something that only a rover person would recognize that its out of place. I put ghost flames on my old pickup just to screw with people.
I just removed the insulation under the hood of my 96 discovery today. It was falling apart and was hanging down on the engine. After removing I drove the truck and it did not seem any louder. I am not going to replace mine.
Well when I get to the point where I am driving it I think that I am just going to remove it and see what happens. Worst case I can replace it for $100 or go with one of the other suggestions.
the french spammer stole my post cuz its the best.
I am probably very wrong on this and I don't know where I heard it from but I heard that if there is a fire under the hood the plastic retainers melt off and the liner falls off to help smother the fire....
I know.... its silly. but i think i read it in the manual for my mom's toyota that has it... I remember telling her about it...
