Default Optima battery cable doesn't reach

So I bought a redtop yesterday, right model for the rover, but the battery posts are further inboard than the previous battery, and the cables don't reach. I am using the battery under tray spacer.

Thoughts? Is there another model optima I should have bought?

What battery model did you get and is it going to be used with a winch?

No winch. Just the standard 34/78 red top. Size is the same as the type 34 it replaced, but the terminals are set further inbound. Which model should I exchange it for?

A silly question; but does the spacer go under the battery or beside the battery?
I have seen them use both way depending on the vehicle, some use them on the side to hold the battery tight in the box.

Just return it and get a standard battery for half price with higher performance ratings.

Never buy an Optima unless you have a specific need for one.

Ive been using fully sealed dry batteries for years and IMHO they simply hold up better to abuse, vibration, discharge and recharge etc.

I'm interested to know what model actually fits.
