Overhead gun rack
Anyone installed an overhead gun rack? If so, please post your setup-- I'm looking for ideas to design my own. My headliner is off right now so I figured now's the perfect time in case I need to drill into the roof or perform any other roof modifications.

they had them on old dog guards. I'm not sure I'd mount overhead from a safety perspective. Lotta weight in event of accident that will in no way be secure enough to stay there...drawers in cargo space or behind front seats would be an easier and more appropriate solution.
Nah, it's going on the ceiling. With a family of 5, gear, and sometimes dogs, there is no room elsewhere. I've considered behind the front seats but that interferes with the rear passengers' leg room and is highly visible from the outside.
There are many overhead gun racks available on the market that have been used successfully without a bizarre, one in a million injury during an accident. I'll risk it.

Understood ceiling is your preference but have not seen any mounts done in a disco.
I'd still go with a low drawer in cargo area that allows for the barrels to slide under the rear seats (pending firearm type/size). No one would see it from the outside, no risk of dropping one on said family or dog and significantly more secure. My discos are lifted so more likely someone sees one on the roof than low behind the driver seats.
