Awesome!! I got one from Lucky8 turned out not to be a Brit part i’ve been running between 198 to 227. Have no clue what’s going on with that but ended up getting a Genuine light gray warm weather thermostat, Land rover . Installed this morning bled the system right now I’m morning between 184 to 194. Still need to burp the system tomorrow make sure I’m topped off but hopefully that’s the fix . Smh

The so called 44.00 180F from lucky8 is not a 180F thermostat. I personally verified it and will not buy any black 180F thermostat unless it's stamped 78C inside and in a Britpart box. If it's not = stick with OEM grey or heck the 180F from Auto Zone which was a Motorad, but it was a 180F and zero issues.

Damn, ain’t that the truth. I’ve verified it as well I put the lucky 8. 180 t in water and it took 215° for it to “start” opening up. This was a test on the stove. I ordered mine through Amazon for $33. When I get the part it’s in a white box that says China on it so I called them and they claimed they ran out of the Brit part. But Cullen help me out with the situation and sold me the OEM one 180 t . Only had to pay the difference between the two so technically I didn’t lose out. Only had to pay the difference between the two so technically I didn’t lose out. Hopefully it’s all good now

Yeah when I mentioned it I got the same thing as oh we don't guarantee it as a Britpart thermostat. Once I verified it was a 12.00 el cheapo I knew exactly what the deal was. I'll do local purchase at auto zone or OEM Grey unless I can get the Britpart which I really really really liked.

When driving it hits 240 within 30 seconds. So yes I am overheating for everyone saying this, and yes I have eliminated the Thermostat because I put it into my 1999 Land Rover and it worked fine. I have a 180 TD5 thermo in both vehicles. 222 is a very high idle. My 1999 isles at 182 so a 40 degree difference shows an issue. And Saturnine, I thought the temp sensor could be an issue as well so I replaced it and it showed no difference. I’m not sure what’s going on

IR temp gun is your friend whenever you are looking into engine temps. You can get various readings from different parts of the cooling system. Is your reservoir pressurized after sitting several days? Does it have a fuel smell in the reservoir? Are the hoses rock while it's running?

Which temp sensor did you buy and from where?
