Overheating and no hot air
My 2000 discoII is overheating and i'm getting the dash water noises and limited hot air.
Coolant level is good, and I've tried bleeding the system on an incline from cold, but no air comes out.
Would air in the system cause the overheating or would that be something else? Fan seems to be going but cant tell if it is at high speed or just freewheeling.
How can i find out what is causing the overheating?

Air in your cooling system is definitely your problem (or at least a symptom of the problem). You need to get the air out of the system. There should be a bleeding screw on the coolant hose right in front of the engine. When you get the air out, you will need to ask yourself how the air got in.

The heater system and the coolant system are tied together. If you have air in your heater core, you have air in your coolant. The air will inhibit the coolant from removing the heat from your engine. Hence the over heating. The air will also not pass heat through the heater core. Hence, no heat. You have to get rid of the air in your coolant or your engine will overheat and die. It is that simple.
