I just installed Extincts inline thermostat kit along with all new hoses and fresh green coolant. The results are dramatic! I went from temps mostly around 197 down to 178-180. (60 degree day, around town driving).
Very good modification.

my normal temps are about 15ish degrees higher around town but the weather is warmer here + ac. What hoses are you using? They look good.

Chris,
I bought a full hose kit from Atlantic British. I replaced the lower plastic Y branch with an aluminum one. If you haven't seen the install directions on Extincts thermostat modification, note that you keep the original hoses only eliminating one hose. You just need to shorten the upper/outer hose. I trimmed the plastic radiator shroud just slightly, below the new aluminum housing for a lower/cleaner fit. I am amazed at the results.
As for your current situation, as others have said, be sure you've bled all the air out of the system with your current setup to be sure that is not an issue. But I highly recommend this modification, which it sounds like your leaning towards.

I tried bleeding my system once but I’ll probably try again for my own sanity - no need to bleed with Extincts right? Waiting on it in the mail!

Chris,
Yes, bleeding with the new set-up is much less a hassle and following his written instructions it essentially bleeds itself.

While trying to bleed the system the bleed screw snapped in half, spraying coolant everywhere. So I had to pour in about a jug of new coolant and replace the screw.

I first poured coolant in while raising the expansion tank, until coolant poured our the bleed hole. I installed the bleed scew and ran the engine with the heater on for a while, massaging the hoses a bit.

Took it for a test drive and after letting it sit overnight filled to the correct level. Almost immediately, I see lower temperatures.

Consisently 210-212 in city, at most 216 while stopped but immediately drops down when I’m moving. This might still be high to most, but remember I was seeing temps consistently from 215-225 running/idiling.

I did try bleeding before so maybe I just finally did it right.

Thanks for the help. Inline tstat still going in this weekend.
