Default Overheating... What next?

Hi guys,

2004 Discovery with 100,000 miles on it. I have had overheating issues lately. When stopped at traffic lights, my temp is climbing to about 210-215. Immediately after I start driving, the temp goes down steadily to about 197-199.

Within the past month the thermostat has been replaced and the cooling fan. The truck is not leaking any coolant.

Could my radiator possibly be clogged and causing this?

Any opinions are appreciated. Thanks!

Yea, I'd flush your radiator and start from there. Check your fan too. Maybe the fan clutch is worn out? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I don't know a lot about how the mechanical fan works.

What thermostat did you put in? A stock, motorad, or the grey 180? Those temps seem normal for a Stock T-Stat. If you spend the $80 on the Grey 180 you will not be disappointed. http://lucky8llc.biz/index.php?optio...tegory_id=1713

The clutch fan was replaced. I have had much cooler temps with the stock thermostat that is why I'm confused.

I understand that the 180 thermostat is better for the summer but I will in PA and the temperatures are dropping here.

It is a motorad. I have used motorad for two years now and my temperature has not acted like this before.
