Default Overland Journal

One of the posters on the forum asked about Roof Top Tents. I referred him to Overland Journal magazine who recently did a full review of RTTs in their first issue. It made me realize some of you may not know this mag exists. Most of you would really love it. The first issue looked to be a huge success.

No, I'm not affiliated, just a big fan.

Great resources and lots of LR based info available.

Yeah, thanks for the link to that Overland Journal. Looks like a great periodical. I'm not too sure the roof top tent is the way I want to go now. I already have a lift and larger tires on the disco. I'm not thrilled about putting 200 pounds of tent and rack on the top. I'm looking at those adventure trailers now that have the roof top tents integrated into them.

Depends what you're doing with this rig. I have a RTT that I use once in a while. It sure is convenient. No need to look for tent worthy ground. Just stop on a level patch and yer done. The weight isn't too bad, but is noticeable. Doesn't effect my off roading too much but the wind drag eats a mpg. Those trailers WITHOUT a tent will set you back $4000-7000 bucks!!! Plus, for the trails I hit, I wouldn't want a trailer behind me for all the tea in China. They love to follow, but should you encounter a super tight shelf road with switchbacks or need to back up....bummer.
