Default P0130 & P0150 Again...

Hi guys,

I've got another problem with my 2003 Disco with 86k on it. I just bought it and it had the P0130 & P0150 codes showing up along with a bad idle. So, I changed out the (2) upstream oxygen sensors with new ones and changed the plugs and wires. The O2 connectors had a lot of oil on them so i cleaned them with brake cleaner and changed the valve cover gaskets to stop the leak. I thought I'd be good to go, but the 2 codes are back along with the same bad idle. Anyone hav any suggestions? Thanks.

So, Give us all the fault code numbers.
As for the connections, you need to use electrical contact cleaner and some die electric.
Who's plugs and wires did you install?

Mike,
The P0130 & P150 are the only 2 code that are showing up now that I changed the plugs, wires and front O2 sensors. There were a few more. If I remember right P0174 was one that went away. Cannot remember the others.

I installed NGK plugs and 8mm NGK wires.

I'll pick up some electrical contact cleaner and die electric today.

I cleaned the connectors again today and put some die electric grease on them but that didn't help. It's got a miss that feels like there's a plug wire off , but they are all connected. Still, the only codes that are popping up are P0130 & P0150. Any other ideas? Thanks, Jason

It be dark in North Carolina, and a good thing as Elon College got whupped 72-0, and The Gamecocks were not respectful of the Tarheels last week. The boys need the dark so the bruises won't show up so bad. They'll be all ready next Saturday to do it again.

But in the dark you can look under the hood for any arcs on plugs, boots, wires, coils, etc.

I like the analogy, lol. I put in the shop and closed the doors and turned the lights off and looked for any stray sparks. It was pitch black in there and I didn't see any sparks. I looked around the spark plugs and around the coils. I did notice the exhaust smelled like a combination of unburned fuel and rotten eggs.

Default I have same problem.

Your misfire problem is not causing your p0130 and p0150 codes. I also tried new 02 sensors with no help. My scanner shows both s1 o2s at 0.01volts which indicates a lean mixture but downstream (s2) is at .900volts steady which indicates rich. I suspect a wiring problem or an internal ecm problem. I have been banging my head against the wall on this one for weeks but I refuse to give up.
