Default P0171 P0174 P0734 resolved

Well, half a year into my first Rover adventure and I finally am riding around with no check engine light. THANK YOU JESUS....and all you awesome LR forum gurus! I love each and every one of you.

If you are getting PO171, PO174 and PO734 together, it is probably your mass air flow sensor or MAF. I was lucky (so far) and found a used OE MAF on ebay for 30 bucks. It came off a totaled Rover (hat off, hand over heart, moment of silence) with almost 60K on it. I have put a few hundered miles on it so far and no codes. I am hoping to get a year out of it but will be happy even if I get 6 months for the price and all.

Just as an FYI for those researching these combined codes, I noticed nothing performance-wise with this problem. It was just the check engine light coming back with these codes over and over after clearing them over and over. I had done the 60K maintenance and put in seriously good plugs and wires, induction & throttle body cleaning. It came down to o2's or MAF and after asking a lot of questions here, I decided to do the MAF before the o2's and wa-la, problem solved.

Thanks again to all you awesome people and fellow Disco lovers for being so helpful and patient with new comers like me. Your dedication has led me to a more intellegent place and has saved me massive amounts of money and headaches. If we weren't spread out over the entire planet, I would say "party at my house tonight" but I guess I will just do my best to pay it forward.

God bless ya all, Bob "No CEL" Ross

Wow you did all that and shot gunned the entire thing. Did you try and find any information first before throwing parts.

That's right kids Next time you have a problem pay a little diag. It might save you from having to shotgun all those parts.

It doesn't sound like he threw any parts at it. He replaced the MAF which is what those codes point to, the rest was just servicing it. I had those codes and went through 3 maf sensors before I found one that worked right, talk about frustrating! You got lucky with the used maf, if it was not working right and it didn't fix the problem, where do you go next?
