Default P1172/1175

My truck is rich and I am not! I'm getting intermittent rich codes, P1172 and P1175 on my 02 bosch 4.0

I just fixed a vac leak which was causing lean codes and now she wants to run rich.

Idles fine, doesn't get any hotter than 187. Spark plugs were just changed since the lean running caused them to burn up. I don't get any gas smell from under the hood or in the oil/coolant.

Im kind of leaning towards my O2 sensors not reading fast enough to trim properly. They seem to be reading, but maybe it's too slow?

What brand are you guys running? I'm thinking I should run bosch, since that's what the computer runs.

Both banks. Better start cleaning the MAF and check if the condition gets better. Its unusual to get both O2 sensors at same time but I guess it happens. I dont think you need to replace them yet but depending also with the age of the sensors.

if you were running lean before and fixed that, it may just take a few drive cycles for the ECU to remap.

the ECU was probably adding more fuel since you were running lean and now that the lean issue is fixed it just needs to relearn the mix.

MAF is new. Is there a way to blank the ECU with an Autel code reader or any code reader? Maybe deleting the long term fuel trim would help. Seems like the codes only appear when I drive, shut it off then restart.
