Default P1317

It is smog time in good ol California and,my 97 Discovery has a failure code P1317 (rough road blah, blah, blah). The history is that the check engine light has been on for more than a year. When I originally got the ABS light there where stopping issues that removing the ABS eliminated (Lifted trucks + offroad equals bad carma). I stopped by a buddies garage and had all the codes read then unplugged ABS under the dash. Now has come the time to pay the piper.

Question

1 Anybody have experience with this code and how to clear it?
2 I have the parts for my hydro boost brakes and prefer to not have ABS but what are the options?, here if any.

All suggestions appreciated.

That is a weird rough rode code that really doesn't mean much of anything. How are your brakes working, if fine then go have a shop that get into your ECU clear the code, it shouldn't come back.

I will have the ECU rest. Question?, with the ABS unpluged from the harness will that in itself cause a failure code at the smog test? As the ABS unit is malfunctioning, whenever you apply the brakes with it pluged in you get the ABS light on and it hammers away when you apply the brakes. 2 Question?,some time back the truck would run rough when first thing in the morning, not when it was started but when you came to a stop. It would trip the check engine light . I had the ECU codes read and got a #7 cyclinder misfire. It has since stopped the rough idle after I cleaned the engine bay before working on the motor and at that time flooded my alarm. I took apart all under hood connecters and cleaned with contact cleaner and compressed air. So I was suprised that there where no other codes.

Thanks for your help.
