Default P1590

Hi all,

Had a code P1590- "rough road-implausible reading" came up on the screen. I cannot find that number in any of my lists. Anyone ran into this one before?

Thanks,
rmcc

It’s related to the ABS system, and is a general fault. You’ll have to scan the ABS system to see if there is an ABS fault that triggered it.

Mine throws that code constantly, but it doesn't trigger the CEL.
In case you can't read ABS codes, my ABS system gives me a shuttle valve error and a wheel sensor error. I never get the three amigos but I expect they will show up sometime unless I clean/replace the wheel sensor and do Option B.

As mentioned above P1590 is a generic fault code. You really need a scanner that can read the actual ABS faults. Once you do that it’ll be much easier to diagnose.

I typically get that code when Tricky Dick has caught a little air.

I just reset it and it is fine till next time I try to channel my inner Evel Knievel

Mine reappears immediately after resetting, even without driving anywhere. I believe it's related to the input from one of the sensors because the behaviour doesn't change when I change the SLABS unit.

Unplug all sensors, clean, and reconnect

That's my eventual plan.
I was trying to add possibly useful info for the original poster.
