Default Painting my Wheels

Hey guys i am ramping up to paint my hurricanes this spring and i was curious what everyone's thoughts/opinions would be on gloss, satin, or matte? I was planning on using the VHT wheel system (http://www.vhtpaint.com/wheelpaint.html). I have a black 2000 DII. Anyone out there done this yet? Pics would be great!! Also do you folks think that the wheels need to be sanded or can i just lay down an etching primer after a good cleaning and paint prep wipe?

Flat black would look cool but I would worry that it would scar easily...

Default Matte Black

You'll proabably want to sand it down enough to remove the clear coat on the rims, maybe use an adhesion promoter under the primer.

If you have a black Disco, painting your rims glossy black might look off if the black's don't match. I'd go with matte black. If you're worried about scarring, just keep a couple extra cans of whatever you use around for touch ups.

I opted to powdercoat my wheels. It has been 4 years and they still look like new. Yes, it was a PITA (sat on blocks in my driveway for about a week), but well worth it.
