Default Parking Brake

My parking brake takes alot of pressure on the button and leverto raise it and abit of torque to push it back down. This normal or just an age issue? It's a '97. I don't use it that often and was just curious.

If the pull is a little tight and short, the cable may either be failing or adjusted too tight.

I remember looking under a D1 several years ago. The E-brake was a driveshaft style E-brake, like those on big rigs...are all D1 E-bake like this?

Yes, all Rovers are like that. So that you can park on a big hill and lock all four wheels or winch somebody and have all four wheels biting into the ground.

Yeah, who'd a thought that a off-road vehicle would actcually be designed to go, um, off-road.

I know that was your original question, all I can say it use it everyday for a week and see if it loosens. It might just be stiff from lack of use.

Used it a little, when I remember to, and it seems that it's the button sticking more than actual brake lever.
