On a stock D2, w Terrafirma shocks. Would you put an engine in the back? Not a rove engine but an M278 Mercedes engine. Shipping weight was 700 lbs, but it sounds like it may be more than that.

I am thinking that is really just 3 people. put the weight over the rear axle.

what do people think?

I had 1100lbs of cinder block all in the cargo area, stock suspension. Had about 2 inches of fender to tire clearance. That’s all I can say. Took it easy with that payload

Carried a Rover V8 fully dressed home on the rear hitch, probably 460lbs. No issues. Frame, brakes, engine, transmission all capable.
