Default PDC Sensor (backup sensor) issues

So I am troubleshooting yet another problem with my 03 HSE disco. The backup assist thingy has never worked correctly so I took out each sensor and cleaned out the connectors. The last one I removed seems to have been the issue (I think) since when it finally released it broke into several pieces that looked like it had been broken for awhile. Has anyone messed around with these things before? I see that new sensors are 55 bucks each, but I don't want to buy one if that isn't the only problem or if I can maybe jumper that connector to bypass that sensor to see if that is the only problem. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jere

I never knew that was a option.

Just one more option to break on this thing. One thing after another with this vehicle. I was hoping someone would know how to jumper that connector to bypass it so I could test the rest of the system before just buying the new sensor. Save on shipping if I need more than one part that way.
