Default Peak Global Lifetime in D2

Is it bad to use it? I have decided to get rid of Dex Cool. I just bought three gallons of this and then I realized that it is yellow and not green. What are your thoughts? Should I return it?
Thanks

Peak Global Lifetime is not only okay, it is preferred by many, many on this forum.

You must, however, be sure to flush the system as completely as you can to get out all of the Dex. Dex does not play nicely with conventional coolants. They react chemically and cause problems.

Others use a garden hose to run water through the system. When I made the switch I perhaps worked harder at it than I needed to, but I drained the system by pulling the lower hose from the radiator on the passenger side. I then reconnected it and filled the system with water. Some have a strong preference for using distilled water, which at my Walmart is $.88 per gallon this week. I then drove the truck enough to ensure the coolant was thoroughly mixed (maybe 10 miles), let it cool down and then repeated the process. Twice. By that point I could detect no color from the Dexcool in what was drained. I then added two gallons of Prestone yellow concentrate. Not the 50/50. By my calculations and as validated by my coolant tester hygrometer, my system is good to go down to something like -20° F.

How often you change the coolant is probably more important than what brand or type you use. Just be sure to flush and refill your system every two years. Regardless of miles.

I have flushed it once already and I am going to flush it again. I didn't run the motor too long because I couldn't feel any water in the upper hoses. I should also mention that my T-pipe bleeder has been removed. The is a solid copper one in its place. Any suggestions to get all the air out?

Drive the front end on ramps, and elevate the recovery tank as you refill. The best way to ensure that all of the air is out of your system when flushing and filling.

When draining, do so on level ground.

I see the advantage of Peak. It makes cleaner leak. no crusty buildup. My rovers cooling system is completely clean, I think since it flushes a gallon of coolant every 2 weeks. I like peak!

Putting it on a steep slope seems to be getting the air out. I am on my last gallon of flushing water (out of 9 gallons) and I am almost ready to put in the antifreeze. Is it ok that there is still water in the block when I add the coolant? Should I run the engine for a few seconds with the hose open to get the last bit of coolant out?
Thanks again.
