By the way, if your parents never replaced the front drive shaft to prevent it failing and taking out your tranny, you need to do that ASAP.

i did have it done when i purchased my truck. But luckily i just got my full license today so I will be the primary driver of that car. I have a gas only credit card so I will from now on put 91 octane in. Mike quick question, might seem stupid, but do any of those fuel additives you can pick up at autozone or advanced auto parts work in boosting the fuel economy? I think they are just a gimic but I wanted an opinion from an expert such as yourself.

BG 44K or Techron are the 2 I would use. I drop a can of 44K in every other oil change.

I put Magnaflow high flow cats on. Not too much to improve mileage. You will have to port the heads, match the intake, swap cam to a 4.6, and you still won't get much out of it unless you chip for $600. Computer is not that adaptive.

I think a couple guys have been able to squeeze a few more miles per tank with one of these....

I am considering one since I commute as well. I run 92 Octane and get about 340 miles before the gas light comes on. I also run Lucas UCL in every tank, no idea if it makes a difference, but I at least can pretend it does

Premium Fuel is a MUST. Not an option

Whoa, who says being age 17 has anything to do with being mechanically clueless? (Sorry, im 17 as well, except I know what Im doing) lol

Sorry to hijack the thread, but wouldn't putting a less restricted muffler or upgrading the pipe size, or even high flow cats help with performance on these things?

Hate to break the train here, but I have run K&N filters on every off-road/desert car I have ever owned and raced. Normally with a sand sock due to issues with "talc" in the deserts of Nevada. Still no problems with MAF sensors on Discos or LR3's.
