Default PEL500110 now available at Atlantic British

Just noticed Atlantic British now carries the PEL500110 Grey 180 degree soft spring thermostat at a great price. BPUtah was on backorder and didn't have time to contact Justin at Lucky8.

We saw this right after ours came in from Rimmer Bro's. Certainly was a long enough wait.

Now if they would only source a 2004 style shifter and transfer case CDL kit.

Also that's the same part number as the thermostat part number for the td5.

Hello I was wondering if someone coudl please help me with my 2000 disco 2. For some reason i could not figure out how to post this in the correct place. I just recently purchased my disco at auction not running. there seems to be no spark in the sparkplugs. I had a mechanic check it out and he stated there was 2 problems, the crankshaft sensor and the anti theft was activated which could be numerouse things. 1 the body control unit and the antenna imobilizer or perhaps the door locks? i have already replaced the crank shaft sensor and the bcu and still nothing. Now I am thinking perhaps it could be that the gas cap lid latch it broken and has activated the anti theft?? Please help.

I think you can't post a new topic until you have a few posts in the boards, probably why you resorted to posting in someones topic already and it worked.

Anywho... try pressing the reset switch on the inertia cutoff. It's a small black piece about 3-4 inchs tall mounted on the passengers side firewall up high level with about the top of the motor I think? Its a black rubber push button on top that shoudl reset it. If the black rubber cover is missing and there is no metal ball, then its probably broken and needs to be replaced. You can short it in the meantime to drive it to get a replacement, or just grab a replacement at the dealer, it just unplugs and i think its like 2 screws or a clip that hold it to the firewall, very easy even if you have zero mechanical ability...... although if this were the case the mechanic you brought it to should have checked this first before replacing switchs and computers!!!!

the car could also be in superlock mode doubtfull but its a free try to fix.... read about it all over here superlock - Land Rover Forums - Land Rover Enthusiast Forum - Threads Tagged with superlock

if not either above, are you getting any codes? what are they? pull one of the boots off of the plug with something nonconductive, is it arcing from the wire to the plug or snapping? is it cranking at all and just not starting? perhaps both coils are shot, or something is unplugged under the hood or a harness ir burned through. coils are at the very rear top of the motor, hard to get to and see without a mirror, flashlight and small hands.

ps... depending on the miliage, and considering you have no history on the vechile comming from an auction, take the time to inspect the front drive shaft, and expect headgasket problems. Buying junker rovers can only be resolved by a full service to get them back to running shape and saving yourself the costs of a new motor/trans. also, search and download "Rave manual", its an all inclusive free "Haynes" manual for Discos from Land Rover.

The BCU has to be synced with a Land Rover specific computer. I'd put the old one back in. You'll get codes for the antitheft system if the battery goes dead. If the alarm system is triggered it won't even crank. If the BCU isn't synced it will crank, start, and then immediately die.
