Default The perfect engine temperature control combination

I recently completed my two main temperature control proactive fixes. The well documented Extinct Inline Thermostat mod @Extinct and the Flowkooler water pump.

My D2 wasn't running hot before the upgrades; but I figured I would take care of it while I was doing coolant flush, hoses, plugs, wires, etc, etc, etc.

Before, I would run about 200 to 203 and occasionally hit 205 but nothing bad above that. Now, after the inline thermostat and Flowkooler, I can't get it to read above 183. I put it thorough some tuff rides; plenty of idling, uphill climbs and is was almost 90 degrees outside.

I'm sure it's overkill to have both but why not

Getting real tempted by those flowkooler pumps next time I need one. I've been inline thermostat for years, but without wiring the auxiliary fan to run when the ignition is on I'll still see 220s on the trail.

Side by side with the OEM pump shows it's no contest. Easy swap out and you should get a ton more flow under 3000 rpm

Im on this bandwagon as well. Inline mod and Flowkooler water pump.
Here in Las Vegas were hitting about 110 degree weather and I run around town at about 185 190. Freeway I run same temps maybe touching 195.
Installing my new stereo i actually idled with Ac on for a good 30 minutes in this weather only seeing a 203 degree high temp.
Last year without the flowkooler id hit 210 just going through a drivethough line.

I haven't actually finished it the "right way" yet, but I'll try to make one when I do.

This thread wouldn't be complete without a link to exactly which Flowcooler water pump and which vendor sells it...

I got worried yesterday, it went to 185 for about a second, then back to 181
