Default perferred brake fluid company

anyone have a perferred brake fluid company? dot 4 synthetic i take it... but ive see valvoline, preston, and some store brands. they all the same **** or does anyone have horror stories or the like?

I like Casterol and I would believe the manual also calls out this brand. I know Pepboys sells it.

Unless you're racing a car on the track, it's all the same to me. That being said, I'm going to try ATE SL.6 fluid as soon as I replace my old lines.

Yea I saw that in rave but ive never seen it around before... we have advance and autozone around here but the pepboys people are ******** so i rarely go in. ill check it out though if thats the oem recommended spec (even though i have nothing oem spec in there now cause theyve been wrong on all accounts hahaha)

Last year when I installed my stainless extended brake lines. I used the Valvoline Dot 3/4 bottle at most Autozones. I bought 3 containers and only need two for a full flush & fill.

I've used Castrol in all my Land Rovers without any issues. But I'm thinking of trying the ATE fluid. I was actually going to do it when I rebuilt my brake system year before last, but forgot to and used Castrol. LOL

I wouldn't unless you are then OK with replacing your ABS unit in the near future.

As mentioned, now that Castrol has a synthetic DOT4, that is by far the way to go.

It will take 3 to 4 pints to do a complete flush.
