Default Performance Air Intake

I see that Atlantic British has an air intake system for Disco1. Is anyone using this system and if so how do you like it.

From a number of post that I have read over the last year, they make your engine sound better under full throttle, make no difference at lower speeds and you may gain 1/4 plus MPG at highway speeds.
To buy or not to buy, I'll leave that up to you.

Go to Lowe's, make your own. The hard part is getting a well fitting heat shield. Keeping the intake air as low temp as possible is the idea with these kits.

I agree, but even a good shield wont help much with an open element intake. The Disco gets wayyy too hot under the hood.

If you just want the sound, pop off the silencer on your air box. Then she'll growl.

Yup, its your choice. Sound and minor MPG increase, or No sounds and no overheating problems. I have seen many problems, even on non-discos, where a shield caused over heating problems. On a truck that runs as hot as a disco you may want to stay clear of something like this. But thats just me....

I had one of these on my old Explorer. The added sound is nice, but I don't think on our Land Rovers we would notice much.

It helped with idling issues on my explorer though (helped keep the MAS filiment cleaner, longer).
