Pics of Disco II with Comet 18" Wheels?
Does anyone have pictures of a Land Rover Discovery II with a set of Comet wheels? I'm thinking about picking up a set for my 1999, and want to get a better feel for what they'll look like installed. The Comets are 6-spoke, 18" wheels, which (I think) were an option on 2003+ Discos.
I haven't had much luck finding many pictures online, but here's one I pulled off the Land Rover Forums Facebook page (thanks to whomever originally posted this pic):

Here is a pic of my 2004 SE DiscoII. I replaced the center green Land Rover ovals with all silver to match the wheels, i think it made it look cleaner and slightly different than all the others out there.

Very nice...thanks!
A couple of questions for you:
1. Given the picture you posted, I assume you're riding on all-seasons. How do the 18s handle the snow?
2. Were you originally riding on 16s, and if so, how does the ride compare?

That is my truck, from the facebook. It is a 2002 Westminster and those were stock on it. The tires are 265/65 18 Bridgestone Duller. They handle great in the mud and snow.
yeah im riding with all seasons, i would tell you the exact brand and size but its in teh shop now getting body work done. i havent driven in anything (snow) too serious as of yet, but it handles ok.
these are the stock wheels (18") that came with the rig when i bought it. Everyone on this forum suggests going with the 16" wheels if you are intending to go off road, with a more aggressive tread pattern. The 18" wheels have less sidewall and do not preform as well off road.
My intentions are to obtain a set of 16" standard steel wheels to go with a new aggressive off road tire, and then just swap them out when necessary. from reading posts on this forum most people talk about having two sets.
i hope that helps

Got my Comet rims and Nitto Terra Grapplers mounted today 255/60-18". Everything fit very well with no lift.

I think those are by FAR the best looking Discovery 2 wheel (other than the steel P38A spares). I have the sort of similar looking 16" wheel, the "six spoke", but it's not and nice looking as the comet.

Here is my DII HSE in 2009 with the Factory 18" Comet wheels. 255/55/18 with Kumo Road Ventures. Sucked in snow. Fine in Rain. Sucky tires.

Now as it looks in 2012 with 16" Typhoons black powder coated rims with 265/75/16 Duratracks.
