Default Pictures and questions

Went to inspect the rubber flex joint on the rear shaft and found this.. can anyone tell me what I'm looking at?

I don't see a rubber flex joint. And what are the round things to the right

Next up new oil leak

Oil between motor and transmission

Opinions on the front of my front driveshaft

Pic 1 - That's a harmonic damper. Helps reduce vibrations in the rear end. The rotoflex is the round doughnut thing just to the L. Yours does not look too bad.
Pic 2 - Looks like it is running down the pass side of the block so I would check the valve cover gaskets. May need to simply tighten the bolts, mine were pretty loose when I bought the truck.
Pic 3 - That looks very sketchy. Is that rust in the joints? If there is ANY play in the U-joints, or if there are no zerks, replace it immediately.

I thought the rotoflex was rubber? I didn't see any rubber between the shaft and the diff

red circle is the rotoflex. 3 bolts hold the shaft to the rotoflex and 3 bolts hold the rotoflex to the diff

Appreciate the drawing

Another photo. I assume the round cover is the inspection plate that I need to remove to confirm what looks to be a rear main seal leak

Removed inspection plate seemed dry up there. I don't really know what I'm looking at but I figured a bad rear main would splatter oil all over in there. Second pic shows a leak originating higher up. Could that work it's way behind the inspection plate?

Valve covers. Rear main is pretty solid in these engines. The front seal is a different story. If your oil pan is coated in oil, it's most likely the front seal. It looks like your valve covers are leaking by the looks of your pics.

You can change those gaskets twice a week and they'll still leak, it's just the Land Rover DNA. They leaked new at the dealers, no joke.

1500 miles on new motor. I've heard the valve covers can work loose so ili' check that they are all tight.

Last question of the day. The parking brake is covered with oil and it drips off the bottom when parked. Is the seal behind the likely culprit
