Planning Valve Cover Gasket Replacement
#21
Just tweaked my outside valve cover bolts. The back two were definitely too loose.
I didn't use a torque wrench, but a sensible tighten.
The rear passenger one was so loose it actually squeezed a decent amount of oil out between the gasket.
Gave everything a good clean and degrease and will monitor. I'm pretty sure this is the cause of the annoying amount of gungeyness underneath. As it has been slowly, slowly, drip, drip down there.
Am I right in saying there is no internal pressure up there, or there shouldn't be..?. So it wouldn't have been blowing out.
