Default Bit late to the party

Hi - sorry, just come across this while looking at giving my D2 a refresh here in the UK. Never heard of Plasti Dip before, are you able to offer any more guidance and tips at all? I love the finished product! Looks amazing... what prep did you have to do before spraying? Did you remove handles and seals, badges etc or just mask around them? I take it if you make a mistake or something goes wrong (like a dog jumping on the door) it just peels off again?

Am really intrigued and keen to undertake this..
and the colour is Camo green?

sorry for so many questions, quite excited!

Recommend you look at the website dipmycar.com and their youtube videos.

Not all plastidip is the same. Some is cheap and doesnt come off easy.
some is really bad and doesnt stick longer than a couple days.

I'm surprised the op managed to do that in california with that many cans.
Environmental will shut down a painting place using compressed air but let everyone spray contaminants and propellants out of cans everywhere and in any quantity.

I've looked at a flat black bed linered rover and if my paint ever goes belly up, thats what I am doing...when you change the color of the bed liner that's a plus too...

Plasti-dip isn't UV stable. You're better off with something like Raptorliner.

You have a source for the theory that it isn’t UV stable? I have had it out in the sun for years no issues. Also have done 6 full car dips over the years and will again

Every rattle can of that stuff I picked up at the Hardware store said on the label it wasn't UV stable. I tend to lean towards the idea the manufacturer did some testing concerning it's stability.

That's a different product. The OP stated he used rattle cans not the gallon cans that require a spray gun setup. (guess you could roll it too)
Monstaliner is good stuff, good reviews, although I haven't personally used it.

Says plasti-dip on all the spray cans, and gallons but we can agree to disagree.

I will say with years of exposure it looks great performed as intended and peeled nicely as long as the proper amount of product was used. Fantastic and even will hold up on wheels when off roaded
