Default Plastic residue on rear windshield

In my never-ending quest to clean up the disco...

The previous owner of my 2003 disco apparently operated the rear wiper without a blade in it. Luckily the wiper arm is made of plastic (or similar material), so it didn't scratch the glass so much as leave an arc of plastic residue stuck to the windshield.

Any suggestions for getting this off without damaging the glass? I've heard that 0000 steel wool does wonders for autoglass, but I'm a little hesitant to try it without hearing from someone who has first hand experience.

TIA,

Syzygy

carefully placed razorblade lubed with dishwashing soap. That is what I have used on glass before.

I agree on the razerblade with soap. Make sure it is a new blade too. I use them to clean bug residue off of the front windshield when I wash the Disco.

Goo Gone makes a product that will remove most residue. It is made for sticker removal but I have had good results with removing pretty much anything on the glass. Get it and a good, sharp razor.

Lighter fluid, Zippo lighter fluid, it will remove it no problem, just dont let it touch the paint.
