Didn't know there was a white or I might have sprayed my black rover this summer.

How did you go about washing it? I wouldn't figure you could go through a car wash, but being lazy I haven't hand scrubbed a vehicle since I was 16. Just wondering if the white ever got a dirty look to it.

 

You can definitely go through a car wash, or pressure washer, whatever. White does stain and get dirty though.

what do you use for cleaning in prep. before you covered it?

 

They sell a cleaner at dipyourcar.com. I used it on my rims and fender flares. It has held up extremely well over the past 6 months. It is starting to peel around the flares but that is because I did not spray them underneath and it left an edge for the wind to get under.

I have been contemplating spraying mine white to help reduce the baking in the Texas heat.

 

the rims look great. good to know on the cleaner. I used xylene and alcohol.

Do they make it in a mix that you can spray on from a paint gun? Because wouldn't the coating look uneven if doing large surfaces with a rattle can?

 

My friend does it for a living, he uses a hplv sprayer, the stuff comes in gallons.

 

that sucks, but maybe you can buy him a hvlp for christmas to make things quicker
but seriously, does he mask or just cut and peel the glass and stuff.

 

haha yeah... I always get those mixed up. Masks grilles, certain other things, peels the headlights, tail lights, etc.
