Default PLEASE HELP, NO POWER

My 1997 land rover needed a new starter, so we tried to change it. we werent able to due to a bolt that wouldnt move. After putting it all together, we found that the truck had no power. no lights, no nothing. it was like the battery was disconnected, the battery has a full charge. is there a reset button, is it something else? please help. cassie

Have you checked to see if the factory alarm is working, do you have an aftermarket alarm? If so have you gone thru resetting either of them. I am assuming you have inspected all grounds and that you did put all the wires back in the right location on the starter? Have you tried locking and unlocking your doors 3 time slowly, this will reset some things on the factory alarm?
Other then that I don't have a clue.

We did check the grounds, everything was returned to its original spot wire wise, no reset of the alarm, how is that done? I don't think I can do the lock thing, I have no power at all. I can do the drivers side door, but it lock and unlock all of them....?

just a thought. try disconnecting the battery for one hour and then check it again. Do you have dash lights, interior lights. recheck battery connections, charge levels.. check the owners manual for a fuse or relay that is in the starting system. If you or someone you know has one plug in a obdII as see if anything comes up as a fault. Hope it helps. gotta love a rover. duboff
