Default Please Help. Only have Reverse not drive

Hi everyone,
this is my first post here for my discovery 2 and am in a bit of a situation. After getting stuck going up quite the hill and giving it the berry’s my car was not selecting into any gear when going between Hi and Low. After some time we are able to get the car down safely and reverse began to work. I have seen a few posts on this issue but none that were able to help me at this current time. Has anyone had this issue before and got any fixes to it, as I am away on a trip and will have to leave the car on the side of the road overnight.
Thanks heaps
Tyler

Have you checked the level of the fluid in the transmission?

You can definitely check the fluid, but in all probability the front clutch is out. Trans has to come out to replace it. Not a common failure, more common in the early trucks than the late trucks. You can typically get a complete trans for less than $300 from a Disco breaker. Good luck.

Would you happen to know any links to buy one, currently am looking but can’t seem to find a front clutch.

Probably easiest to source a whole replacement transmission. I've never opened one up -- they intimidate me.

That is just to replace the front clutch, depending on the miles on the rest of it you might be better off with an entire transmission.

Thanks heaps for that mate, the transmission has 320k on it so it may be better to replace the whole thing?
