Default Plug Wires, Disco II

Good day everyone,

While doing a search for 8mm magnecor ignition wires I found this - "Discovery Series II
(replacing intake manifold gasket may be required)" Why oh why would one may/might/should/could/have to consider replacing an intake manifold gasket when replacing plug wires? Sounds like an echo check of the exhaust system to me.

oh - 111 for 8mm and 135 for 8.5mm (without the bigger looms)

Thanks

Robert

Some remove it to have more room to work.

Disco Mike,

Thanks for the information, I printed those instructions however, at this point I don't know what secondary air is? Pardon my stupidity but, this is a new (to me) system with no previous knowledge or manuals.

Thanks again!

Robert

I have a 2003 Disco and replaced the wires without removing the IM. Well, technically I had someone do it for me, but I was there lending my much smaller hands for help.

It is possible...pain in the butt, but possible. I was told I had secondary air because of the year of my Disco, but I still don't know...haha.

So the parts list includes Band-Aids if you choose not to remove the IM?

Not Band-Aids...more like finger splints from being squished and contorted trying to access small spaces....

I recommend the beer drinking afterwards...the cold can/bottle/glass will make your hands feel better
