darkness did not bring good news!.
Drove 20 miles or so and got PO171/174, then drove 20 miles home and added P1172 and P1175 to the mix!
All sensors except O2 are "ready"
MIL is ON
Which would be a good direction to take now?

not yet..i hate to diagnose by buying new stuff. Is there a schrader valve i can check fuel pressure from? and if so, where is it located and what is the pressure spec?

P1172 Oxygen Sensor System Too Rich Fault Banks A & B

P0171 Oxygen Sensor System Too Lean Fault Bank A

is this not a contradiction?

I think the schrader valve is on the back of the engine somewhere, but I couldn't find it. I made an attempt to get to it once, but I think it might be impossible. Now I've got a PO171/174 code, see what you've done.

New O2 sensors arrived today. Little tip for anyone replacing them....they will not want to come out even with penetrating fluid.
Idle the car for about 15 minutes to heat up the exhaust, then they come out no problem.
Made a few short trips and no codes have appeared. Will take it for a longer run after dark and post back tomorrow

So, did you check for vacuum leaks or what? it may take more than a visual inspection. There are various ways to do it, but I wouldtakea low pressure air compressor and hook it up to the intake somehow and listen for leaksand spray connections with soapy water.
